Looking back at my completed tasks, I see myself pushing beyond comfort zones. Yet missing from my planner pages are the reminders to seek unity. Smiled and greeted a store manager. Thanked the bagger for putting a week of groceries into recycled bags. Stepped aside so others could pass. Whispered “excuse me” when I neared the six-foot pandemic ring.
Jesus, thank you for equipping me to be unselfish and build unity. For the opportunity to be purposeful in my steps. My reward is knowing I served You with the best intentions. When I am unselfish, I will not fail. I stretched myself further knowing You were watching me. I took risks knowing that Your purpose was before me. As I continue to partner with You in unity, I pray for more opportunities to be unselfish. Amen.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13 NIV
LIVING FOR TODAY
