“It’s only when we find our satisfaction in God that we can find real freedom.” -Barb Roose
There are many times when I begged for “freedom” from hardship. The child inside me wanted her freedom. Her way.
My inner brat demanded to be satisfied by things of the world. Treasures to a child’s heart.
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.” (Matthew 6:19 NIV)
My treasures became things I could see, count, and feel. My treasures were measurable.
Working hard to obtain the treasures, I worked equally hard to protect them. Adrenaline and cortisol became my protectors as fear became my friend.
Letting go of world treasures- opened my heart to see His. I found my satisfaction in the One who created me, knitted me, and planned a future for me.
